Undecided about your major?

Explore Your Options

Many students are undecided about their major when they enter college — and many who have decided will change their minds more than once before they graduate. Take a deep breath, relax, and know that you will find your perfect major.

Bushnell’s core curriculum is designed to help you explore diverse academic disciplines allowing you the opportunity to see what majors and minors align with your passions and strengths.

You can graduate in 4 years if you enter college undeclared

Yes, you can start as an undeclared student, choose your major, and graduate in four years. In fact, waiting to declare your major or changing it after you declare can actually increase your likelihood to graduate. Obviously, there is a limit as to how long you can stay undeclared and still be able to complete your bachelor’s degree requirements on time. Take a deep breath, relax, and know that you will find the perfect program for you.

You will have a lot of support to help make your decision

You’re not alone in the process of deciding on a major. Bushnell offers many resources to help you along the way. The Office of Academic Advising, the Office of Career Development, your faculty, and others are here to answer questions, help you complete assessments, find internships, and guide you towards a major that truly suits you.

Did you know?

All Bushnell students take the StrengthsFinder assessment. Based in positive psychology, this assessment allows you to understand the unique perspective by which you approach life, including how you think, feel, and behave. The results help you explore questions like, “Who am I?” and “How do I best contribute to make a difference in the world?”
