Sheryl Caddy began teaching at Bushnell in the summer of 2021. Her role includes teaching in the ABSN and coordinating clinical placements within the School of Nursing.
Sheryl began her nursing career in the mid-Willamette Valley area in 1984. Her areas of clinical practice included perinatal nursing, infusion therapy, and home health care. Sheryl’s academic practice began in 2002 as a clinical faculty member at Linn-Benton Community College. In 2008, after completing her law degree and opening a small private practice, she joined the faculty at Linn-Benton full-time where she was the Program Director for nine years. In 2019 , Sheryl served as the Dean of Nursing at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, OR, until coming to Bushnell University.
Sheryl has served on several statewide nursing committees including Oregon Council of Associated and Licensed Nursing programs, Oregon Nurses Association Cabinet on Education, and Oregon State Board of Nursing’s Education Standards Advisory Group. She currently serves as the Education Representative on the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
Sheryl is a member of the Oregon Nurses Association, Oregon Bar Association, American Nurses Association, National League for Nursing, Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau, and our local chapter of Sigma Alpha Alpha Tau.
Sheryl is dedicated to student success and excellence in nursing education. She holds a firm belief that creating a positive learning environment for students will empower them to become positive change agents in our communities and ethical, accountable, excellent nurses.
