TRANSFER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who Is Considered a Transfer Student?

If you have taken any college coursework after high school (or after a high school equivalency exam), you are considered a transfer student.

How Many Credits Can Transfer Into Bushnell University?

We offer generous transfer credit policies where students can transfer up to 94 semester credits toward a bachelor’s degree. An official transcript evaluation is completed for each student as part of the application process. You’ll receive your official transcript evaluation upon acceptance to the university.

Are There Specific Requirements for Transfer Credits to be Accepted?

Transferable courses must be at the 100-level (or above), taken at a regionally accredited college (up to 30 transfer credits from a nationally accredited college will be accepted) and with a grade of C- or higher.

What is the Difference Between a Semester Credit and a Quarter Credit?

Quarter credits and semester credits are two ways of classroom hours. While they are different numbers, they measure the same.

A school on the quarter system (state universities and community colleges in Oregon) divides the academic year into four sessions: fall, winter, spring, and summer. Each session is approximately 10 weeks long.

A school on the semester system divides the academic year into three sessions: fall, spring and summer. Each session is approximately 15-16 weeks long.

Bushnell University uses a semester system. When your transcripts are evaluated, if you have quarter credits, they will be converted to semester credits. This is how the conversion works:

1 Quarter Credits = 0.67 Semester Credits

2 Quarter Credits = 1.33 Semester Credits

3 Quarter Credits = 2 Semester Credits

4 Quarter Credits = 2.67 Semester Credits

Does Bushnell University Require Transcripts from Previous Colleges/Universities?

Yes. Transcripts are used by your enrollment advisor to complete your transcript evaluation. Bushnell University requires that official transcripts of previous academic work completed at all other colleges or universities be submitted for evaluation. It is your responsibility to request official transcripts from these institutions when applying for admission.

How Do I Request College Transcripts from Previously Attended Institutions?

A transcript is the permanent record of academic work completed at a college or university. The transcript request is often managed by the Office of the Registrar or Records Department of your institution.

You may be able to request your transcripts and submit them electronically if your previous institution participates in an electronic transcript exchange service. Electronic transcripts are sent securely in PDF format and offer the fastest processing time. If they ask for an email address, please use adultdegree@bushnell.edu.

You may be able to only request your transcripts online from your previous college or university website, and have them submit it via mail. The official, physical transcript should be sent to the following address:

Bushnell University
Attn: Office of Admissions
828 E 11th Ave
Eugene, OR 97401

If you have any questions or run into unusual delays or problems obtaining official transcripts, speak to your enrollment advisor.

Who Reviews My Transcripts? How Long Does It Take?

Your official transcripts will be evaluated directly by your enrollment advisor. The time it takes to review your transcripts and complete an evaluation will vary. We will inform you via email when your transcripts arrive. We try to complete all evaluations within two weeks of your final transcript being received.

Can I Submit Unofficial Copies of Transcripts?

We are happy to complete an unofficial transcript evaluation to give you an idea of what it would look like to complete your degree at Bushnell University, however, official copies of transcripts will be required for admission into the university.
