Bushnell University’s GLOBAL PROGRAMS

Financial Options

Many students don’t pursue studying abroad because they assume the cost is too high. However, finances do not need to be a barrier. With a wide array of help available, many students have studied abroad for the same cost or less than a semester at Bushnell University.

Bushnell University offers scholarships to select applicants for study abroad and global programs. Additionally, students can apply for study abroad scholarships available through Gilman International and other grant-providing organizations.

Common Financial Options

Students can find more detailed information on financial aid and scholarships in the Global Programs & Study Abroad Portal on My.Bushnell. We recommend interested students meet with their financial aid counselors to further discover what specific options may be available.

Global Initiative

Bushnell University has joined the Institute of International Education’s Generation Study Abroad initiative to help more Americans gain international experience through study abroad programs.

IIE’s Generation Study Abroad initiative seeks to mobilize resources and commitments with the goal of doubling and diversifying the number of U.S. students studying abroad by the end of the decade

Hear From Our Students

"During my study abroad experience in Spain, my favorite part was meeting people along the way. Each person was unique, and they opened my eyes to new perspectives and cultures. The experience was unforgettable, and I’m so blessed that I was given the opportunity to study abroad.”

"The highlight of my trip to Costa Rica was meeting locals around town and at different churches, and staying in touch with them even now. Through study abroad I learned that I’m capable of a lot more than I thought!”
-Maddie Thompson

"The opportunity to not only experience another culture but truly have a hands-on experience has brought not only a deeper appreciation of other cultures but also a deeper understanding of what is written in the Bible. For me, being in Israel has brough the stories of the Bible to life and bridged a gap that makes the Bible so much more personal. I have always struggled to really understand components of the Bible and I felt that experiencing Israel would help me to bridge that gap. I knew that to be there as a student would allow me to experience the culture but also connect to God's word with new understanding. There are so many things and I am still unpacking this trip... Places, people and ways of doing things just make so much more sense after seeing them and experiencing it. An example would be visiting the "Jesus boat", which gave perspective to the size and design of what Jesus was sleeping in during the storm.”
