  • For Alyssa Unruh, her spring semester internship didn’t just bring her to the frontlines of campus ministry, but also a season of personal transformation.

As an Interdisciplinary Studies major in her senior year, Alyssa interned with Northwest Collegiate Ministry, a regional organization focused on spiritual development and discipleship for college students working to meet them where they are at spiritually. As a student leader with @ncm_eugene , she helped create spaces where students felt safe to ask questions, explore their faith, and build community.

One of her most formative experiences was tabling every Tuesday across the street at the University of Oregon, where spectators were invited into conversations about faith and life. “We met people who were in all kinds of places with God — some who love Him, some who are angry with Him, and some who’ve never met Him,” she said. “It taught me that ministry can look like so many different things.”

While gaining experience in spiritual leadership, Alyssa also felt transformed through putting her ministry knowledge she’s learned into practice stating, “For me, it started as a small flame, just knowing ministry is something we’re all called to. But this internship gave me the tools and encouragement to turn that flame into a campfire. And I hope one day it becomes a wildfire.”

Great work, Alyssa!

  • Spending a week Mexico, our Beacons served several communities in need with hard work, support, and prayer! 🇲🇽

Our 2025 Mexico mission team's journey was full of meaningful encounters - witnessing the systemic challenges families in Tijuana are facing, serving refugees, the elderly, and the hungry alongside inspiring community leaders, and sharing in rich cultural exchange with their new friends. Additionally, our Beacons served as part of a build team finishing up a building for children's ministry, as well as helping lay the foundation for a home of a husband and wife that serve their neighborhood as pastors.

Great job, Beacons! We love seeing our mission teams embrace opportunities to support and seek fellowship with our communities in Mexico.

Over the course of three incredible weeks, our 2025 Bushnell Cambodia Missions Team 🇰🇭 shared the love of Jesus through teaching, building relationships, and supporting the inspiring work of our Cambodian missionary partners who are faithfully serving God’s Kingdom.

Our Beacons worked with over 300 Cambodian students ages 5 to 15 across three different regions of the country, partnering with schools dedicated to transforming the lives of their students through teaching English, equipping them with essential life skills, and fostering a safe, nurturing environment to create a hopeful path out of the cycle of poverty that many face daily.

In addition, the team helped renew a sense of pride and joy in a rural village by revitalizing the grounds of a their school with flowerbeds, installing a watering system, and creating a vibrant mural.

Well done, Beacons! Great job sharing the love of Jesus to so many Cambodian communities through your service.

For Alyssa Unruh, her spring semester internship didn’t just bring her to the frontlines of campus ministry, but also a season of personal transformation.

Spending a week Mexico, our Beacons served several communities in need with hard work, support, and prayer!

After 127 years of wisdom, faith and service, we find ourselves positioned for a season of campus development and program expansion. To flourish, we must expand, to thrive, we must build. To serve, we must…Venture Forward.
A six-pronged campaign to raise $18,000,000 in three years. Three significant building projects to increase capacity and three significant program developments to expand and deepen our influence.
How You Can Help

While the campaign is already fueled by a number of large gifts, we need the participation of our whole community to see the vision fully realized.
