  • Meet Kyle Foss! 💡

Graduating senior Kyle is from Kauai, Hawaii majoring in Accounting. Around campus, you can find Kyle as the Chaplain Captain on the Bushnell Beacons Esports team, while also leading two of our many campus small groups.

Thinking on his time at Bushnell before graduating, Kyle's favorite part about attending the University has been the opportunities to push others closer to Christ, along with the endless chances to be creative, and bring God into every facet of life. Bushnell was a perfect testing ground for his life, and a perfect ground for making connections. Coming out of Bushnell, Kyle is very grateful his time led him to his future wife, and that it contained numerous opportunities to be more focused on others.

According to Kyle, Bushnell has prepared him in many ways to be successful after graduation, "- I would say that the normal experience from high school to graduating college is that you learn much more outside of the classroom than inside it. I had the best Accounting teacher, and a great Bible teacher, but I would not have chosen to come here again if all I'd gain is from classes. Instead, being in a Christian college showed me the need for God in our cities... Bushnell has prepared me to stand up for what is right and be a beacon of light."

A final word of advice from Kyle is to be bold in initiating time with others, don't wait for others to make all the plans. Initiate time and people will appreciate you for it.

Congratulations, Kyle!

  • For senior Liam Kerr, a spring internship at Visual Robotics has put him in the heart of tech innovation.

A double major in Mathematics and Computer Science: Software Engineering, Liam has been exploring his growing interest in the high-tech industry at Visual Robotics, a local company specializing in artificial intelligence and robotic systems. A highlight so far has been his work on Vim 303, a robot powered by deep learning technology and a real-time object detection system. With a camera-guided vision system, the robot can now distinguish between brands of snack chips — just one example of the advanced capabilities Kerr and his team helped bring to life.

Reflecting on his time so far through his internship, Kerr encourages fellow students to dive deep into their internships with curiosity, intentionality, and a strong sense of purpose. “Be a sponge and learn all you can,” he advised. “Ask lots of questions. Just make really good use of your time.”

Great work, Liam!

For senior Liam Kerr, a spring internship at Visual Robotics has put him in the heart of tech innovation.

Celebrating our seniors with our annual Cutting of the Ivy tradition 🌿 and our Graduate of the Year awards! 🏆

Seniors joined together on stage for our last Chapel of the year to for Cutting of the Ivy, a symbolic tradition marking their time to flourish beyond our campus community into the callings they are pursuing.

Our students were also able to celebrate some outstanding graduating Beacons receiving Graduate of the Year awards, nominated by the faculty of each respective academic school, honoring each students’ quality of character and academic achievements.

For senior Liam Kerr, a spring internship at Visual Robotics has put him in the heart of tech innovation.

After 127 years of wisdom, faith and service, we find ourselves positioned for a season of campus development and program expansion. To flourish, we must expand, to thrive, we must build. To serve, we must…Venture Forward.
A six-pronged campaign to raise $18,000,000 in three years. Three significant building projects to increase capacity and three significant program developments to expand and deepen our influence.
How You Can Help

While the campaign is already fueled by a number of large gifts, we need the participation of our whole community to see the vision fully realized.
