Homeschool Students

Bushnell gladly accepts homeschool transcripts as an official record of your high school academic achievements. Transcripts prepared in conjunction with a diploma program through a local secondary school or by an agency that assesses homeschool curricula are preferred. If a conventional transcript is not available your transcript must include:

  • Name of homeschool (if any) and address (typically your home address)
  • List of classes taken each year (grades 9-12), along with the letter grade for each class (A, B, C, etc.)
  • GPA for each year
  • Total cumulative GPA
  • Signature of the homeschool registrar (typically your parent) and date
  • Graduation date
Recommended Homeschool Curriculum

Bushnell recommends prospective students take the following classes prior to enrolling:

  • 4 years of English
  • 3 years of Mathematics
  • 2 years of Science
  • 3 years of Social Studies
  • 2 years of Foreign Language

Elective courses in fine arts, computer literacy, and humanities are encouraged.

If you have a strong high school GPA you may choose not to submit SAT or ACT or CLT scores as part of the application process.

Bushnell takes a comprehensive and integrated approach to reviewing applications by evaluating each student’s transcript, personal statement, extracurricular participation, and evidence of leadership and motivation. Students who show a consistent and challenging academic performance throughout their high school career will be in a solid position for admission.
