Professor Goertzen arrived at Bushnell in 2019. She teaches a variety of courses within the School Counseling Program. Some of her favorites to teach are Counseling Skills, Group Counseling, and Crisis Management. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at Bushnell University, earning a B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in School Counseling. Ally has also earned an M.A. in Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education. Prior to teaching at Bushnell University, she was a high school counselor. She also spent one year living and serving in Cambodia after taking many short-term mission trips there throughout her higher education experience.

Ally enjoys spending time outdoors paddle boarding, playing pickleball and slow-pitch softball. She loves traveling to new places, watching live sports (not on TV), trying new coffee shops or restaurants, and baking anything from cookies to pies. She is married to her husband, Cameron, and has two children.
