Katy Lemieux began her teaching career at Bushnell University in the School of Nursing as an adjunct faculty in the ASBN program. Having enjoyed teaching and precepting nursing students so much, she joined the nursing faculty as a full-time instructor in fall 2022.
Katy began her nursing career in the Eugene/Springfield area in 2013. Her primary area of nursing expertise is critical care, specifically in the Emergency Department. In addition, she has worked in day surgery, oncology, endoscopy, and as a nursing supervisor at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center, University District hospital. Katy is a member of the Oregon Nurses Association, Emergency Nurses Association, and the American Nurses Association
Katy is dedicated to student success in nursing education and practice. She firmly believes that engaging, positive, and dynamic learning environments are foundational in nursing education and practice. She is committed to educating excellent nurses who can make positive contributions to the profession and community at large.
When Katy is not teaching or working at the hospital, she enjoys the company of her husband and two sons. In rare moments of solitude, she can be found dreaming of faraway beaches, roller skating faster than her age permits, or writing a book.
