Dr. Williams brings to Bushnell University a unique blend of real-world experience in public school education combined with a love of learning and a passion for teaching. She has previously served as an adjunct instructor for Northwest Christian University and the University of Oregon teaching education courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. She has also been a presenter at two national conferences focused on relevant educational issues. Her higher ed experience, coupled with over three decades of teaching and serving as a school and district administrator, makes for an effective combination of knowledge and skills and that serves our students well. Marilyn’s background includes expertise in special education, instructional technology, literacy and writing instruction, and research-based best practices in the field of education.

Marilyn shares her knowledge and skills through a faith-based lens that will guide and inform her work with students. She demonstrates servant leadership in her roles as a public educator and a long-standing member of her church body. Her faith is apparent and her ability to integrate her Christian walk into her work with students will be a gift for our entire Bushnell community.

Professor Williams holds a Doctor of Education in Education Methodology, Policy and Leadership from the University of Oregon, a Master of Science in Special Education from Western Oregon University, a Reading Specialist Endorsement, and a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education from University of Regina.
